How to solder copper pipe?
Soldering copper pipes can be useful, allowing you to repair and securely join copper pipes and valves. With the right tools, soldering copper is a relatively straightforward process. Firstly, clean the pipe joints with an abrasive cloth, then use flux paste to ensure the copper is clean and help the solder flow through better. Next, heat your soldering iron before applying it to the copper where you want to place the solder. Next, feed in the solder along the sides where you’re applying heat until the joint has a shiny coating around it and liquid solder is visible underneath. The copper pipe joints should now be connected. Be sure to take necessary safety precautions when working with copper and an open flame, being mindful of both yourself and others in your space.

Types of Brass, Bronze, & Copper from VASLLP
- Large level wound coils These large coils go on cardboard or wooden reels, or are simply separated by cardboard dividers, and bulk packed before loading on skids with copper, copper-nickel, or steel strapping. Coil widths of 40, 60, or 100 are available, with 240 ID reel diameter and a 360 max coil OD on reels (a 380 max if not on reels).
- Small level wound coils These are 140 to 200 diameter coils, either with no reel or with a plastic reel, with coil widths from 20 to 6 5/160 and a maximum weight of 90 lbs. They have tape or wire banding, and the ends can come soldered, capped, or sealed.
- Bunch coils With a maximum of 50 lbs. in weight for each coil, these 300 to 320 diameter coils are boxed and separated by cardboard, then loaded onto skids.
- Pancake coils These coils are 130 to 270 in diameter, with lengths of 250, 500, 750, or 1000. We also offer straight-length with the following packaging choices:
- Wood boxes Wood boxes are for straight-length over 380 in length to protect it during transit. The box weight is typically between 500 and 800 lbs.
